So you have one week…. Your students can learn about Victory gardens in the past and gardens today in a more comprehensive manner if you include selected activities throughout the week and conclude with a final project on Friday to show what they have learned.
1. Introduce the topic
2. Pick several social studies lessons and adapt the material to your students’ level.
3. Do one of the cross-curricular activities with math/science/botany/nutrition each day
4. End the week with a Photostory show and tell. connect how important gardens were during wartime and how they still can be today.
5. Consider putting up a bulletin board about Victory gardens
